Lady Bearcats Depart For Cape Girardeau

Hermann, Mo. - This morning students lined up out side Herman High School, cheering on their Lady Bearcats as they departed for Cape Girardeau, making their 21st appearance in the Missouri State Volleyball Final Four.

Parents spent time this morning hanging posters of pictures and motivational messages inside their bus.  One message taped above Coach Linda Lampkin’s seat read, “Coach Lampkin is her name and volleyball is her game.  We know she’s the best… That’s Y she’s in the Hall of Fame.”

Compared to the vast majority of Hermann’s final four appearances where they were expected to move on, this year one word, “underdog, has rarely if ever been associated with the Hermann Volleyball program, which makes 2013 a “little more special,“ Lampkin said.

This being Lampkin and Alan Speckhals’s 33rd year together coaching, the day they decide to retire is quickly approaching.  No one knows when that day will be other than them.  One thing is for certain, Lady Bearcat fans are at least guaranteed one more time at watching the Lampkin/Speckhals dynasty sitting one the bench together.

Only time will tell if the two Hermann legends will return next year so enjoy the moment.
