Liz Ann Holdmeyer (March 12, 1971 - November 13, 2013)

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Barrett-Holdmeyer, 42, of Washington, passed away in Grapevine, Texas on November 13, 2013.

Liz was born in Washington on March 12, 1971 to Hal and Bette (nee Holtmeyer) Barrett.

She was united in marriage to Bernie Holdmeyer on January 31, 1997 in Jamaica.

Liz soaked up life, met every day with a smile, loved having a good time, and would more often than not, instead of lamenting her own problems, she would try to help her family and friends with theirs.

She had a wonderful love of animals and the outdoors; bike and horse riding, roller blading, and swimming. Most of all, she adored her two children, Morgan and Carver.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Washington on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. Father Michael Boehm will officiate. A Visitation will be held at Miller Funeral Home on Sunday, November 17 from 2 until 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Exceptional Equestrians of the Missouri Valley or the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her husband, Bernie Holdmeyer of Washington; two children, Morgan Alexis and Carver Barrett Holdmeyer of the home; parents, Hal and Bette Barrett of Washington; two sisters, Jacque and husband Chad Owens of Washington, and Jill and husband Chuck Langford of Villa Ridge; one grandmother, Darlene and husband Lou Kossina; mother in law, Arlene Holdmeyer of Washington; six sibling in laws, Leon and wife Barb Holdmeyer of Dutzow, William A. Holdmeyer, Marcia Holdmeyer, Brenda and husband Bob Kamper, Lisa and husband Mike Brinker, and Paul and wife Cindy Holdmeyer, all of Washington; nieces and nephews, Logan, Brook, and Parker Owens of Washington, Marliegh and Weston Langford of Villa Ridge, Jen and husband Tim “Timmy” Tobben of Washington, Rachel Holdmeyer of Dutzow, Ashley, Lindsey, and Elizabeth Kamper of Washington, Brendan and Nicole Brinker of Washington, and Logan and Evan Holdmeyer of Washington; other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Harold Barrett; her grandparents, Jim and Dot Holtmeyer; one nephew, Conner Owens; and her father in law, Victor Holdmeyer.
