The New Haven senior Seth Schenck has continued his dominance after running track for the first time last year where he captured a State Championship in the open 800m, a second place finish in the 1600m, and helped the 4x800 team finish seventh at state.
This year Coach John Tucker has seen senior Zach Grater emerge after winning the the 3200m at South Callaway, running a career best time of 10:44.45. Grater also runs on the 4x800m relay team.
“I am really excited to see what our boys 4x800 team can do. In our first meet at Mizzou our time (8:44.48) was the best in Class 1 at the time. Since the Mizzou meet only North Shelby has posted a faster time of 8:42.92”, said Tucker. “I really like the line-up we have. (Jon Stone, Keven McDowell, Zach Grater, and Seth Schenck) I just like the attitude of Jon Stone. He’s a hard worker and is really excited to be apart of the 4x800. He’s really been pushing himself and Keven continues to running better and better.”
Along the girls track team, we will have a more in-depth look at the boys team and where they stand against teams they will be facing in Saturday’s Class 1 District Meet at Lutheran St. Charles.
