NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The New Haven Youth League just announced some new changes to their sports program.
As other towns are seeing a decline in their little league numbers, New Haven’s numbers continue to grow. This news is exciting and inspiring to those involved, but has brought to light some concerns producing a full schedule for teams.
To remedy this, the NHYL has decided to expand our schedule by playing games with the Washington Youth Sports Association on a regular basis and will continue our partnership with the surrounding towns we have played in the past, as well.
In order to make this work they are making slight adjustments to age divisions so they link up with national standards and opposing teams.
The biggest change will be seen in the T-Ball Division. The league is now offering T-Ball to a child who will be four years old by May 1, 2014. This change allows us to build a better instructional league in the early years and move some slightly older players to a more appropriate level.
The first division, following T-Ball will still be on the introductory level by utilizing coach-pitch. The NHYL views this most recent change as another step in the right direction to grow and improve our league.
As always, the NHYL looks forward to providing a positive experience to your child this summer!
