Stephanie Scheer hits a three midway through the first quarter.
New Haven, Mo. - Saturday the Lady Shamrocks rebounded with a 65-17 win over Kingston in the first round of Districts after ending their regular season with a 53-49 loss to Owensville on Thursday night.
New Haven’s Stephanie’s (Scheer & Gerling) tag teamed Kingston scoring 12 of the Lady Rock’s 26 first quarter points.
Scheer had the hot hand, scoring a career high and game high 12 points on 5-6 shooting from the field.
Gerling, who finished with nine points, has been ridiculous from the field. Saturday she hit her first three shots after going 6-6 against Owensville two nights before.
In New Haven’s last five games, Gerling has been flat-out on fire, shooting a absurd 73% from the field, which includes 2-2 from behind the arc.
The Lady Rocks quickly jumped out to a 26-1 first quarter lead before Coach Doug Peirick rested his starters during the second quarter.
Molly Munsinger(pictured right) led New Haven with six points in the second quarter to give the Lady Rocks a 40-6 halftime lead.
After three quarters Kingston found themselves down 60-12, forcing a running clock in the fourth as #1New Haven advances into Tuesday’s semifinal against #4Barat Academy at 7 p.m., which you will be able to watch live on QuickNewsNow.
Saturday also marked the first time all season where every New Haven player scored.
Rachel Steinhoff dished out a game high five assists, scoring 10 points on 4-7 shooting. Olivia Fleer and Taylor Covington tied for a game high six rebounds while six of Fleer’s rebounds came on the offensive end, scoring six points on the night.
