St. George School Offers Free Concert, Activities, and Games This Friday At Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheater

HERMANN, Mo -  St. George School has a religious theme each year to help celebrate their faith based Mission.  This year the theme is IGNITE: Spark the Light.  In conjunction with the community wide service project they are offering through SERVE St. Louis, they are closing their Mission week on October 17, 2014 with a grand event.  The event is called “Light Up the Night” celebrating the unity of all denominations within our tri-county area.

A group named the “Trislers” will be providing the main stage entertainment.  The Trislers, from Illinois play Christian music ranging from traditional hymns to contemporary Christian songs.  They travel the state frequently and are a family act.

Also at the event will be craft stations, kids carnival games, face painting, a free item with admission and more.  Local businesses are also bringing their large equipment for a display.

There will also be adult games including corn hole, washers and ladder ball so that parents can enjoy being at the event too.  Adults will get to put their name in for a raffle prize full of St. George goodies, apparel, fish fry tickets and cook books.

Food will be available for a nominal fee.  The event is free admission and each child under the age of 18 gets 4 free tickets at the gate.  Additional tickets will be available for purchase at .50 each.  Any profits from the event will be donated to the Vincent De Paul Society that helps those in need.

This event is open to all ages and people are encouraged to bring the entire family.  However, adults are asked to stay and supervise their children.  This event is one way that St. George can share their ministry and encourage all youth to either begin or continue on their faith journey.  We invite local churches to bring their youth groups, schools or child care centers to bring their customers, or any family who wants to participate in a safe, fun filled, family friendly event.

This event will close the Mission Week at St. George in which the students raise money for the food pantries, pray for vocations, prepare for a Pro Life trip in the winter and offer stewardship community wide.  There is reason to celebrate all of the ways that the students of St. George give of themselves to serve others. We want YOU to be a part of the fun.

If you would like more information or would like to participate in our event offering a free booth, please contact St. George School at 573.486.5914.
