Tues. Dec. 31 - “We can all reduce our life to a description that makes people feel sorry for us or we can expand our life to a dimension where we connect and give to others.” - Tony Robbins
Have you asked God for what you need? If you desire or need something ask God in true Faith for His help and consideration. The Father already knows your desires, but He wants us to ask. Accept what God gives you and how He gives it to you, because He knows best.
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matthew 7:7
Mon. Dec. 30 - Let us pray: It’s hard believe that the new year of 2014 is only a couple days away. Father, we thank you for all you have done for us throughout 2013. We look forward to everything you have planned for our lives.
We ask that you would protect us and cover us as we step into this new chapter, new year and continued faith in you. Thank you in advance. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
Sun. Dec. 29 - “Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are.” Marianne Williamson
You are a victor. "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." Romans 8:37
In your eyes, it may not have been a perfect holiday, but “Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize and to show others how good things really are.” Today I can't wait to share my joy with my family, friends and FAITH family. Take one day at a time…have faith, the joy will come back.
Life may not be fair all the time, but if we have the right attitude, instead of setbacks, everything will be a set up for something great in your life.
Don’t be pitiful when you can be powerful. Every day of your life has already been written in God’s book and your story ends in victory. Start each day knowing and believing that. Not everything is going to go the way WE have planned and when or if disappointment strikes, jump on God’s band wagon of JOY!
Sat. Dec. 28 - Have you been crying out to the Lord for something? Maybe there's a situation in your life that's been overwhelming, and you feel like you've done everything you know to do and can't see a way through. Be encouraged today because we serve a God of justice! He is faithful to His Word, and He will always be faithful to you.
"I want to know and rely on the love You have for me, Jesus, and live in that love and Faith that you know what’s best for me. You say that whoever lives in love lives in You, and You in them. In this way, love is made complete, so that we can have confidence in all we do, knowing you’re there beside us today and forever."
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Fri Dec. 27th - You’re not inconveniencing God by asking for help in your everyday life. God wants to be good to you. He wants to show you His favor in new ways. He’s saying today, “Come on, I dare you to ask.” Some are afraid of praying to God; others feel hypocritical for not always following in Christian ways. God loves us no matter what.
We can work to strive to be like Jesus, but we will never be Him. When you feel guilty or ashamed, pray to Him for forgiveness and ask for help to do better. We’re getting closer and closer to a new year. Make your new year’s resolution one to sit down with God and talk about your past, present, and your exciting future!!! You'll find great comfort in doing so!!
Instead of talking yourself out of thinking about your future or being afraid of what He has in store, embrace it. “I can do all things through Christ.”
God forgives, restores and fills us with His love. "Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;" Psalms 103:4
Mon. Dec. 23 - A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. - Proverbs 16:9, NKJV
Oftentimes, God will use our experiences in life as stepping stones to prepare us for what He has in store next. He is always leading us on a journey of preparation.
That’s why it’s so important to keep our eyes focused on Him. We have to trust that when we are surrender to Him—even if we don’t understand—He is ordering our steps. If something is not happening on your timetable, remind yourself, “God knows what He is doing. He has my best interest at heart. God is preparing me.” While you’re waiting, don’t make the mistake of trying to figure everything out.
If you’re constantly trying to figure things out, that will only frustrate you. Turn it over to God. Declare, “God, my times are in Your hands. I’m not going to worry because I trust that You are leading me on a journey of preparation for all the wonderful blessings You have in store for me.”
Sun Dec 22 - The inspiration for this message is from “Jesus Calling” and perfect for this time of the year.
Do not be weighed down by the clutter in your life: lots of little chores can sometimes become overwhelming. If you focus too much on the petty tasks, trying to get them all out of the way, you will discover that they are endless. They can eat up as much of your time.
Instead of doing them all at once, choose the ones that need to be done today. Let the others slip into the back of your mind so God can be in the forefront. Remember your ultimate goal is living close to Him. God can communicate much more easily when your mind is uncluttered. With His presence in your life you can more easily bring order to your life.
Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.
Sat. Dec 21 - I just read a Facebook post of one of my friends. This person stated that just two simple comments by a couple strangers made his day. We all need to approach our days in that way. Negative thoughts come to every person. The key is, don't verbalize them. Be positive or be quiet.
God knew there’d be unfair situations. That’s why He’s already arranged a comeback for every setback, justification for every wrong, a new beginning for every disappointment.
Even on this gloomy day find a way to brighten someone’s day. God has a plan, let Him guide you to do the right thing; by the way it’s Christmas time, spread some cheer. Have a happy and safe weekend!!
Fri. Dec. 19 - Don’t go around worried, nervous, anxious, and intimidated. The Creator of the universe has you in the palm of His hand. God loves you too much to open wrong doors. He's not letting you down; He's doing you a favor.
Stop wasting valuable energy on things that don’t matter. Get over anything that is holding you back and move forward in victory.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Wed. Dec. 18 - Sometimes you have to accept the fact that certain things will never go back to how they used to be. Life goes on and with God by your side; it’s always for the better.
I look back daily and realize just how things have changed. I’m so thankful that God stepped in to change my outlook of many things.
I’m not saying there are no worries or they aren't things that frustrate me; I do still worry about things I can’t control, but it doesn't consume me as they once did. I find myself, almost immediately, thinking things could be a lot worse. There are so many things, big and small, for which we all need to be thankful for. I love the excitement and anticipation of thinking about what God has in store for me.
If things are getting you down, look around; God may have a new plan in store for you too…Pray for His guidance and control of your life.
Expect great things in this new season of your life. "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3:1
Tues. Dec. 17 - So many people today run from anything that’s hard. They run from their problems. They run from responsibility. They run from people they don’t like. They run from the past. They run from anything that makes them uncomfortable.
Instead of facing the issues and dealing with them, they just take the easy way out and go down the path of least resistance. But if you’re going to live in victory the way God intends, you have to learn how to face your challenges head on.
No one enjoys conflict, but God expects us to stand up for ourselves and ask for His guidance if we are in need.
Today, instead of dwelling on what you’re not, dwell on what He is — He is faithful, He is loving, He is with you and He is for you! And with God on your side, you are headed for victory all the days of your life!
Mon. Dec. 16 - Here's a perfect explanation of how we think we can control our lives (even when we don't realize it) in getting what we want in the time we want it. We all have dreams that we are believing in God for and situations we want to see turn around.
Too often, we put God in a box and tell Him how to do it, when to do it, and who to use to do it. We’ve got it all figured out: how God is going to bring us out of debt, how He is going to change our loved one, how we’re going to meet the right person. We pray that things will unfold according to OUR plan. But we have to realize that God’s ways are not our ways.
A Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for another day, another opportunity to praise You and pursue the dreams You’ve given me. Help me to stay filled with Your joy, which is strength, so I can serve You with my whole heart in everything that I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.
We walk by Faith, not by sight. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:7
Sun. Dec. 15 - I found this today and it ties in well with yesterday's message. Most of the time we don't give God enough credit for what He has created in us. Just think of the possibilities. It is our responsibility to teach others and bring them with us to God's promised great gift of Eternal Life. Why not make it fun and rewarding while we're here on earth.....Smile!! Remember God shines through a smile.
God has equipped you with everything you need to FULFILL your destiny through His Word. That means you are well able to do what He has called you to do. You can accomplish your goals. You can FULFILL your dreams! You have the ideas, the creativity, and talent to be successful. You can overcome any obstacle. You've been armed with strength for every battle.
Not only has God equipped you, but He is also working on your behalf. He has already gone before you and lined up the right people and the right opportunities. You have everything you need to live a victorious life—you were created to excel!
You may not have seen it in the past, but if you’ll stay in faith, it’s just a matter of time; victory is on its way. Don’t settle where you are. Don’t have a weak, defeated mentality. Have the attitude, “I am anointed. I can accomplish my dreams. I can overcome any obstacle. I am empowered by the Creator of the universe, and I am thoroughly equipped for every good work that God has called me to!”
People may not approve of you. Don’t worry about it. God approves of you. People don’t determine your destiny. People can’t stop God’s plan for your life. God called you. God equipped you. God anointed you.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:18-20
Sat. Dec. 14 - Wouldn’t it be a blessing to God if we could all find a little fulfillionaire in each one of us? I found this while search devotionals this morning. I modified a bit, with still getting across the point. I’ll be praying for God to help instill all of these areas in me. Just something for the mind to think about!!
~fulfillionaire~ noun – a person who is rich in every area of life.
Definition – A fulfillioniare does not compromise areas of their life to achieve gains in others. They live a balanced life with abundance in all areas. They have clarity and control and rarely experience stress.
They are of their physical condition, have meaningful connections with family, friends and spirituality while using their time and financial means to help and support other to the glory of God. They love life and are considered wealthier in real terms than millionaires and billionaires.
Dec. 13 - “The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.” ― Barbara Kingsolver
The peace Jesus gives exists in good times or bad, when you are filled with joy or feeling degraded. His peace will comfort you in the middle of the storm.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:7
Thurs. Dec. 12 - Have you ever felt like God wasn’t out there during a time of suffering only to look back later and discover He was with you all along, possibly using your experience to guide others?
God has given you friends; family and I pray a Faith family to help you through those times. He has a time and a place for everything, and those buddies here on earth are what God has in place to get you through until He’s ready.
Those times with others develop closer meaningful relationships (which could be part of His plan). Have you ever thought those times connecting with friends are maybe what’s part of their plan.
He never promised everything would be easy, and if it were we’d be spoiled brats. The next time you feel alone, say "Surely the Lord is in this place!" Have patience He knows what He’s doing. The best is yet to come!!
"Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it." (Genesis 28:16)
Wed. Dec. 11 - Ok, today I’m going to try a little humor and like thinking. Yesterday I told my mom I hate when I forget something and have to run back in the house. I never want my dog to think I’m returning when I’m not. She reminded me that she had heard once that animals don’t recognize time. So really it’s just us humans feeling the emotion.
The analogy I’m getting comparing animals and God is, they both love you unconditionally no matter what, they both are always happy to see you or hear you when you’ve been away and they both are always, always forgive you. God bless your day!!
His love is always there to welcome you home. "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3
Tues. Dec. 10 - Look into your heart and forgive someone who wronged you. "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses." Mark 11:25
Sometimes this forgiving thing is very difficult, but it’s part of the process in order to move on. To me forgiving and forgetting are two different things. I’ve forgiven many people over my life time, but the memory of some experiences will always be stored in my mine. I’m not sure if that’s a positive or negative thing, but I do know that with God’s help I don’t hold on to it and allow the bad to consume my life. Ask God for His guidance and love to ease your mind when the past seems to consume your life.
Mon. Dec. 9 - No matter how good or bad you think life is, wake up each day and be THANKFUL for LIFE. Someone somewhere else is fighting to survive.
One of my greatest concerns everyday is the concern for others that are not as fortunate as me. I wonder why God chose my family, and me specifically to be His followers. If they don’t know Him, what do they do when they’re at the end of their rope? Thinking about that makes my stomach turn. We are all His children with many different family backgrounds and life styles. So why am I so fortunate? Maybe He chose me because Ilike to talk? LOL.. It does help when writing these messages.
A meaningful life is not being rich, being popular, being highly educated or being perfect. It is about being real, being humble, being able to share ourselves and touch the lives of others. It is only then that we can have a FULL, HAPPY, and CONTENDED LIFE. I say AMEN to that!!
"But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him."
Sun. Dec. 8 - Here are a few Bible verses to think about today, snuggled under the blankets with a hot drink.
Today, make decisions that would be pleasing to God. "When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him." Proverbs 16:7
Today, make an effort to trust God. "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." Proverbs 3:5
You have a Father who knows what is best for you. "For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me." Psalms 31:3
Sat. Dec. 7 - “Life is an echo. What you send out, comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others exists in you. Remember, Life is an echo. It always gets back to you. So give goodness.” This was posted by one of my Facebook friend. (thanks Carol Graue)
Oh how true…It starts with a cuss word when children are young. I’m sure everyone has experienced that. Some may think it’s cute at the time, but as time goes on that cuteness wears off and can turn into a problem; Embarrassment, bad reputation, etc. Think about your teenage years and the things you did hoping it wouldn’t echo back to your parents.
God wants us to live in His likeness. Treat others the way we would like to be treated. Your actions and moral values will be noticed by more than your children. Smile, say a kind word and show you’re enjoying life. Stop and think about that echo coming back to you when your actions are questionable. The devil always temps us to stray away from our gracious Father.
Sorry I started out wanting to make this short and to the point. I'm not sure why I thought that would be the case. Happy cold weekend.
Heavenly Father please help me to be an obedient child of yours through faith in Jesus Christ. Amen.
Fri. Dec. 6 - Too often we make the mistake of remembering what we should forget—our hurts, failures and disappointments—and we forget what we should remember—our victories, accomplishments and the times we have made it through. – Joel OSteen
Great point, this hits home with me…I remember so much stuff that I wished I didn't. It seems that the hurtful stuff and disappointments I can recall where and when they exactly happened. Just imagine if Nelson Mandela would have lived his life that way…Jailed for so many years, but yet he used his life, of 95 years, for God’s good.
God please help me to forget the things which do not matter and help be to bring those happy memories to the forefront in my mind in order to do your work.
Psalm 107 - Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Thur. Dec. 5 - All of your days have already been written in God's book. When you go through a disappointment, don't stop on that page. Stay the course. Keep believing. You may be tired, discouraged and frustrated, but don't give up on your future. Our God is faithful and just.
Thank you Heavenly Father for all your Blessings and for pulling me back in when I get off track. God I pray you keep all that have to be out today safe.
Wed. Dec. 4 - A very good friend gave this to me a few years ago. More than ever, I need to go back to this pray to remind myself, I am where God wants me. God does want us to truly enjoy and experience this beautiful life He has given us. Thanks Joyce.
Saint Theresa’s Prayer -
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of Faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your ones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
Tues. Dec. 3- "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.” - Melody Beattie
It's human nature by default to being ungrateful. At times when we don't know the full story we make assumptions and quickly become ungracious. The above quote of gratitude puts things in perspective. Enjoy and show gratitude for today's beautiful weather.
Mon. Dec. 2 - There are times we are called to be a light in the darkness.
Now is that time. Be a calm presence of love. Let your heart shine like a beacon in dark times. It is surprising what a difference one light can make.
The celebration of Thanksgiving Day with family and friends has passed for this year; but that doesn’t mean we stop being thankful and grateful; our blessings are beyond measure.
As Christmas ascends upon us we think of that Bethlehem star, which so many years ago shined in the darkness. The people of that time were confused and wondered just as we do today…that beacon in the darkness was that one light that makes a difference.
One thing we need not ever wonder or worry about is that God sent His only son to die for our sins. What a difference that Bethlehem star has made in your life!! God’s wish for all of us is to be that light…you never know who may need that shining light out of a deep dark place.
That feeling of knowing you’re doing God’s will is overwhelming. As we prepare for Christmas keep this thought in mind. Some lyrics from the song by Newsboys gave me comfort through the dark nights at the beginning of my journey... Great song.
“Your Love Never Fails” - Newsboys
….There may be pain in the night
But joy comes in the morning
And when the oceans rage
I don't have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me
Your love never fails
You make all things work together for my good.
You make all things work together for my good.
Sun. Dec. 1 - Sorry I’m running somewhat behind today, but I think God needed me to get out and about to get this.
It’s so nice how so many experiences just come together in order to get His message across. Our God is an awesome God!!!
This morning I spoke with a friend of mine, she told me that my daily message always seems to be directed to her.
I hear that a lot from so many people. We all have or have had issues in our lives and the majority of us think we can handle them on our own.
We hear what we want to hear when others speak…So hearing this from so many people proves to me even more how God’s working through me.
There’s no coincidence in the timing of when He opens up our minds and eyes. God’s message is there for you to take and apply to your life or to share with others.
I would have no clue of the struggles you are going through, and honestly I don’t need to know, I have enough of my own. God has blessed me beyond my greatest dreams to do so much good for Him.
One thing I’d like to request is to send God’s daily message on to at least one person. God knows those in need, let God work through you as well. As you pray ask God for guidance of whom to forward on to and be a messenger of Him.
One prayer can change everything. As we say before leaving church…”Live to know Christ, and to make Christ known.”
You’ll know when God’s working through you, things just become easier.
“….I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
