Sept. 30 - For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught. - Proverbs 3:26

The devil wants you and me to feel so bad about ourselves that we have no confidence in ourselves, our self-esteem is gone and we’re a mess.
But here is the good news: “We don’t need confidence in ourselves – we only need confidence is Jesus!”

Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. – Hebrews 10:35

I can do all things through him who strengthens me. - Philippians 4:13

Sept. 28 - Yesterday couldn’t have been anymore glorious! Having family and friends all gathered at the White Mule Winery in one place to witness the marriage of two young adults as they start their journey of life together. The weather was beautiful, the food was exceptionally great, but that’s no surprise, Ashleigh’s dad, Greg worked many, many hours to prepare it to be excellent for his baby girl!!....And Aunt Dawn lost a few hours of sleep getting all those potatoes done perfect to the Bailey family likings. 

My exceptionally talented mother decorated the perfect wedding cake.  Sarah and Jacob the music during the ceremony was beautiful!!! Every gust there played a big part, so if I’ve missed anyone it wasn’t intentional.

But just how blessed were we to have Pastor Andy Yount, pastor at The Bridge Lutheran Church, officiating the ceremony. Ashleigh and Adam’s faith is very important to them. I personally cannot remember the message at any wedding ceremony that left an impact on me as his did!! Andy used a group of unity candles as a symbol of how we should commit to the promise of keeping our marriage alive by reigniting our partners light when it becomes dim and the only solid way we can do that is with God being among us. To me this also symbolizes life in general.

So many people around us have very dim lights and heavy hearts. As in a marriage we commit to our partner, and in the big scheme of things we need to be connected and committed to God to keep our candle burning for others to see and be drawn to it.

Thank you everyone for making their day very special. The wedding is complete, it couldn’t have been more PERFECT!!, so now bring on the grandkids!!! LOL!!

This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. – Psalm 118:24

Now on today’s celebration; Kristina’s 30th Birthday and my sister and brother-in-laws 29th anniversary!!

Sept. 22 - I’m back WEDDING WEEK!!!…Lots of last minute things to remember and do. I pray God keeps me focused and on track and blesses all of us….He sure did this weekend!!!  Thank you God!

Twelve of us had a great time in Nashville this weekend!!  Fabulous weather, times of laughter, bonding, lasting memories and love!! I thank Kristina Bailey for arranging everything and the rest of us who made it happen. Thanks to Kathleen Scheer (Australia) and Michaela Rohlfing (Jacksonville, FL) for traveling the furthest, the weekend wouldn’t have been the same without you!! What a great group of girls to celebrate with, the stories are endless.

Now back to reality...Ever felt like you've set your life to the rhythm of rush? I have a feeling this week could be one of those kinds of weeks. Although sometimes it just takes stepping out of the rush to see things clearly. This week needs to be planned out, so all things will be perfect for Ashleigh and Adam’s BIG Day!! I pray that God takes me out of the rush moments and allows all of us to enjoy every moment leading up to Saturday.

There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his labor.  - Ecclesiastes 2:24

Sept. 18 - I have faith to believe God’s big enough and wise enough to take care of all that concerns me.

That statement doesn’t mean we won’t experience concerns and fears of our future. When I experience that I have to STOP and reel myself back in; reminding myself to take one day at a time. God's assurance is what we need most. I love how He words His promise to take hold of our hand and be our Help! Isaiah 41:13

Love the Lord with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your strength. Deut. 6:5

Jesus says in John: "Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled. John 14:27

Sept. 17 - Instead of making a negative comment like, “What next?” Ask yourself - "What could go right?" and focus your attention there while being gentle with fearful thoughts.

“It’s important to make others happy, but it’s more important to start with yourself.” Sometimes it’s very hard to focus on happy good things when you feel things are piling up on you. You feel you do so much good for others, and when it comes to you things never come out as hoped.

When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.
- Ecclesiastes 7:14

Sept. 16 - “Courage is not moving forward without fear. Courage is moving forward in the face of a challenge or of the fear to not succeed.”

“It’s important to remember that we all have magic inside us.” – JK Rowling

That magic is God’s love for us to face the world and our problems with strength and courage, freely given by Him. Whether it’s running a race as a commitment to ourselves, giving it your all when playing a so called rival or most importantly standing up for your faith and making it known. I’ve come to see that there are more people that know God is real, but may just need a boost to show their faith. Be the one to show them the way and not be afraid to surrender it to Him.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord! – Psalm 31:24

Sept. 15 - I'm hoping this message gives comfort to a few friends that may be suffering today.

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you. -  Psalm 39:7.

We are so blessed to have God’s promise of Eternal life with Him and with our loved ones someday. In all our sorrows, our help and hope comes from the Lord.

“Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God.  He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—he remains faithful forever.”
- Psalm 146:5-6

God of all comfort and hope, in your unending love and mercy for us, You and only You can turn the darkness of death into the dawn of new life. Be our refuge and our strength to lift us from the darkness of this grief to peace and joy in your presence. We ask this through Christ, our Lord…Amen

Sept. 14 - "Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you." - Deuteronomy 31:6

This statement and thought is from the book “God Loves You” by Dr. David Jeremiah. God loves us is the most profound truth in the universe. Experiencing this love has the potential to answer every question, solve every problem, and satisfy the deepest yearnings of the heart.

God wants us to come to Him for satisfaction and an understanding of our questions. He created us have an enjoyable and abundant life. Give freely of yourself and be dedicated in His love.

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:3-4

Sept. 12 - Being nice means simply being respectful even if you disagree, it doesn't mean you have to agree. In other words…It’s nice to be important…but it’s more important to be nice!!

Life is short…Think Positively ~ Smile. Do the things you Love to do. Give lots of Hugs ~ Play hard. Dream BIG dreams ~ Be grateful.  Be Hopeful ~ Always speak the Truth. Laugh out Loud ~ Have Faith. Be Understanding of others. Create Beauty in the World. Figure Out when to Let Go and when to Hold on. Love Like Crazy!!

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs.” – Psalm 100:1-2.

Give others a chance: you have no idea what they may be going through. You could that shining ray of light which God wants them to see!!  Be on guard, things happen in the craziest place and the strangest moments.

Sept. 11 - Today you’ll be getting quotes and things to ponder….

Ever feel like the relationships you treasure most get your “less” instead of your “best”?  And you don’t want to keep wishing you'd have done things differently.

Sometimes we need to look at our circumstances through a different perspective; a new perspective. {God's} perspective.

Greater is HE that is in us than all the fears and doubts that say we're not enough! Jesus is more than enough when we let Him live His life through us! You may feel insecure or unqualified to what God has called you to, but remember greater is He in you!

God's assurance is what we need most. I love how He words His promise to take hold of our hand and be our Help!

For I am the Lord, Your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

"God’s working His grace and His strength in my weakness. When I’m willing to be weak, He gets to be strong. When I’m willing to be real, He uses it to help others see, pray for and get to know the “real me” and the real God I desperately need and love."

Sept. 10 - Just a few Bible verses reminders today…..

The Word of God keeps me on the right path. Thank you Lord! "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalms 119:11

God started it and He is able to complete it. "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:8

Just when I felt like giving up, God stepped in. "For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." Isaiah 41:13

Thank God for all He is doing in your life. "In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:6.

Sept. 8 - Christ is calling us as Christians to be cleansed, to dedicate our lives to Him, and to fully surrender by putting all our worries on Him. If you are a Christian and have been suffering defeat or have been living outside the will of God, it’s time to give it to the Lord. Your life was meant to be enjoyed and to praise God for all things, good and bad.

What keeps you from a full surrender of your life to the King of kings and the Lord of lords? I believe a lot of the people that see this message are headstrong and probably of the German heritage…We, including myself, love to handle things on our own, it’s this pride thing and makes us feel good; that is WHEN IT WORKS; but when it doesn’t we find ourselves crawling back to God in prayer for help. The Bible says, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways” (James 1:8).  One thing we forget is when it does work, it was because of God and not at all our doing….He does give us the ability and determination to succeed at some things on our own.

“My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.” – Proverbs 23:26

Sept. 7 - "Remember, conflict doesn’t always mean we have to fight against something and tear it apart. Conflict can also mean we’re fighting for something to make it even better and stronger than it’s ever been.” - Lysa TerKeurst

God equips us to do more than we think we can. Anything that God has asked you to do in your life you are equipped to do it. So stop saying “This is too much for me. I just can’t handle this.” God never gives up on you and there are many times He could easily do that for all of us. Test yourself to go above and beyond…You may find it very rewarding.

“I have filled you with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts and talents.” – Exodus 31:3

Sept. 6 - Busy day today...This devotion comes from one of  my daily reads...

I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:12b-13)

The world defines contentment as being satisfied with one's status, location, or possessions. For Christians contentment comes from knowing Jesus is our Savior from sin, death, and the devil. Our contentment comes not from what we have, but rather from what God has given us – new life through faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Our status has been changed from sinful to forgiven, from dead in our sins to alive in Christ! God promises to care for us and give us all that we need. That is contentment!

Faith-filled parents want to model contentment to their children. That can be achieved by rejoicing in all that they do possess ratherv than complaining about what they don't have. That kind of attitude will be admired and imitated by their children.

Sept. 5 - During weeks like these I find myself not spending enough with God. Many of us want to work for God, but we don’t spend enough time with God. We’re hurrying around in our busyness instead of calmness, walking quietly and peacefully with our best Friend.

Of course, God calls us to do His work and there’s no time for us Christians to be lazy or have lack of persistence. But God also calls us to Himself. “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place” – Mark 6:31.

It’s not easy to shut out the world and all our responsibilities, but God asks that we take some time for ourselves and spend it with Him. It is essential if we are to grow with God and be strengthened for our battles ahead. Today is the day to start spending time alone with God. Don’t put it off!!

The eyes of the Lord are in the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers. – 1 Peter 3:12

Sept. 4 - Sorry for the very late post today. I had an MRI this morning and a doctor’s appointment after that…Just got home. Everything is progressing along as the doctors have planned. Next appointment December. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!!! God is so good, Praise the Lord!!

Life sometimes throws us some curves that make us take a step back and forces us to reevaluate where we are, what we’re doing, where we are going and what is our purpose?? Not that we always see His hand at work, but God moves in mysterious ways, which is beyond our understanding most of the time. From day one I’ve put my faith in Him and He will never fail me!!

Don’t be discouraged by what you see daily in the headlines of the paper, internet or on TV. God is at work, and some day Christ will reveal His plans for all to see. I see and feel Him daily working through and in me. He has allowed me to share His words with all of you and gives me great reports of my health.

A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones. – Proverbs 15:30

Sept 3 - Off today to the Cardinals –business man special, game at 12:45.

The atmosphere is exciting!!! Playoff fever is in the air!! But being a Cardinal fan this year, as well as in the past can be very nerve racking.  Shall we say they are not always the most consistent game, many ups and downs, but it always seems that they pull through in the end.

We are very fortunate to have a team we can follow in the postseason, year after year. I know sports are a material things on this earth and there are no guarantees. I do have to mention that this Cardinals organization is led by a God fearing manager, Mike Matheny, maybe that’s why they do so well in the end?!?

But we, as Christians, do have the ultimate guarantee and are blessed to have a very consistent and loving God, who will never disappoint. We can count on Him "day in, and day out"….He never gets a day off because He just can’t go that day.

He loves us every day no matter what and we are promised the best championship prize of al in eternal life, which sure beats 11 World Series Championships!!! God will never forsake you or be in a slump!!

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” – Deuteronomy 31:17

Sept. 2 - Thanks my friend, Sheilah Schoolcraft for posting this thought on Facebook. I’m using it this morning.

Let It Go ~ Whatever someone has done to you is going to be attracted right back to them at some point.
You are not involved in this process, its simple law of attraction. Stop carrying it around and let the universe take care of it - good, bad or indifferent. Their stuff, their lesson. Let it Go.

Many of us are too stubborn to let some of our negative the past experiences go!! As a Christian we know God forgives us daily for all the wrongs and we get a new start every morning we wake up. Being a Christian is a daily, ongoing experience. It’s a lifelong process of repentance and FAITH, turning from sin and seeking to live in Christ.

It isn’t easy to surrender our stubborn wills to Christ, but when we do, we see the light bulb go off. Instead of the stress and tension of a life out of whack we discover the serenity of His presence in our lives.

Who will control your will today? – You or Christ?  “Repent therefore and be converted.”  - Acts 3:19

Sept. 1 - I think we easily forget how lucky we are. The days fly by and we take them for granted….raising children and running in every direction, handling the household duties; rushing to and from work to another activity or commitment.  I remember when I was younger, people would say enjoy this times as a kid because it will zip by fast. We as kids or even young adults are thinking, “Not fast enough!!”  Then real life and real responsibilities come; college, the job, first home, and then with our own children; Time does go by way to fast!!

Today my challenge to you is to stop wishing to get past each phase of life and hoping for the next thing to come your way.

Instead CELEBRATE today --

God’s Holy Spirit gives us strength for His schedule for us. I believe God plans for us to include times of rest and relaxation in our schedule. I’m so glad I finally realized that. Have a great relaxing Labor Day!!
