Jefferson City, Mo. - The public is invited to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park.
Originally dedicated in 1938, the park will host a rededication ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, all events will be held in the monument field, just as the original dedication events were.
Visitors can enjoy historical presentations, nature displays, storytelling and tram tours of the park.
Activities will emphasize the colorful cultural and natural history of the park, including flora and fauna, early settlement, development of the park by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and the legacy of the Babler family. Festival activities will run from 12 to 4 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Food will be available for purchase throughout the event.
