Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park’s 75th Anniversary Oct. 19‏

Jefferson City, Mo. - The public is invited to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park.

Originally dedicated in 1938, the park will host a rededication ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 19. 

Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, all events will be held in the monument field, just as the original dedication events were.

Visitors can enjoy historical presentations, nature displays, storytelling and tram tours of the park.

Activities will emphasize the colorful cultural and natural history of the park, including flora and fauna, early settlement, development of the park by the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) and the legacy of the Babler family.  Festival activities will run from 12 to 4 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. Food will be available for purchase throughout the event.

Franklin County Sherriff's Department To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoints

Franklin County, Mo. - Deputies of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting sobriety checkpoints over the weekend of October 25-27th.

Funding to operate the sobriety checkpoints are being paid for via alcohol related grants provided by the Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division.

September's First Friday Gift Basket Winner

New Haven, Mo. - On the first Friday of each month, New Haven residents and those passing through are treated when visiting the various shops on Front Street.

Each “First Friday” event offers a rewards card program in which all participants are entered in a gift basket drawing.
