Consumer Alert - Be Aware Of Hotel Scam While Traveling

Franklin County Missouri - The Franklin County Sheriff's Department from time to time will release information about various scams that are new to the area.  Although they have not had any reports of this scam being committed locally, it is a possibility and they feel consumers should be aware as people take vacations.  The scam works as follows:

When you arrive at a hotel to check in you give your credit card information to the front desk.  After you are checked in, someone will call the front desk and asks for a Room number which happens to be your room. The phone rings in your room.  You answer and the person on the other end says the following:

Evelyn Heying and Heather Kohlbusch were selected Employees of 2nd Quarter (April, May, June) by the Employee Appreciation Committee of Hermann Area District Hospital.

The employee of the quarter is selected by a committee of peers based upon the employee going above and beyond for the hospital and the community we serve.   This quarter there were two Employees selected.  Both employees received a certificate, corsage, and will be sharing a $50 gift certificate to “The Cottage Restaurant”. 

St. Peter's UCC Vaction Bible School Set For July 15

St. Peter's United Church of Christ will hold Vacation Bible School July 15-17 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the church. The theme this year is Kingdom Rock - Where Kids Stand Strong for God.

Kids ages Pre-K thru 6th grade are encouraged to attend a fun filled program with games, Bible stories, crafts, music, and refreshments. A mission offering will be collected to purchase mosnets for Africa.
