New Haven American Legion Auxiliary Announces 2015 Essay Contest Winners

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The American Legion Auxiliary Post 366 in New Haven recently announced winners of the 2014-2015 Americanism essay contest. Below are winners of Class 1 and 2.

Kruse Finalist For 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - New Haven High School Josh Hoener announced on Friday that Hannah Kruse has been named a Finalist in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.

A Certificate of Merit will be presented to Hannah for this outstanding accomplishment.

A total of 15,000 students across the nation are being recognized as finalists for their exceptional academic promise.  Now the process of some 8,000 Merit Scholarship winners will begin.  Winners of the National Merit Scholarships will be announced in late May.

Hannah Pruessner NHHS April Student Of The Month

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The April Student of the Month is senior Hannah Pruessner.  Hannah is the daughter of Paula and Jerry Pruessner.  She is active in track, band, FBLA, FCA, FCCLA, and NHS.

One of her teachers said, “In addition to being a conscientious student, active member of many organizations, and dedicated track athlete, Hannah conducted herself with an incredible amount of confidence, class, poise, humility, and maturity on senior trip.

She treated her classmates kindly, was polite to strangers, listened to and followed instructions from the sponsors carefully, and stayed aware of her surroundings.

Six New Haven Students Headed To Girls State

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 366 of New Haven is sponsoring six delegates to attend the American Legion Auxiliary Missouri Girls State June 21 – 27, 2015 to be held at the University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO.

Contributors along with Unit 366 are Town & Country Women’s Club and Post 366 Sons of the American Legion.

Sidewalk From Highway 100 To New Haven High School Fully Funded Through Federal Grant

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - In 2012 the City of New Haven applied for the Federal Safe School Route Grant that would have a sidewalk built from Highway 100 to New Haven High School.  In October of 2013 New Haven was awarded the Federally Funded Grant, which would allow the construction of the sidewalk, which is 100% funded by the Federally funded program.
