New Haven Elementary Will Have Brand New Playground By Next School Year

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - Thursday morning New Haven Elementary students erupted when Principal Kasi Meyer made a surprising and unexpected announcement that the New Haven PTO had raised enough money to purchase all new playground equipment for the school.

Luke Gerlemann Name New Haven Middle School February Student Of The Month

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - Luke Gerlemann has been selected as the New Haven Middle School February Student Of The Month. Luke works extremely hard at his class work always striving to do his best. He participates well in class.

When Luke gets something wrong, he always wants to know how he can improve his work so he won't make the same mistake again.

Borcherding Named NHHS Student of the Month

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The January Student of the Month is Senior Kayla Borcherding.  Kayla is the daughter of Heather Vedder and Jeff Borcherding.  She is active in volleyball, basketball, track, FBLA, FCA, is the  NHS vice-president, senior class vice-president, and the student council vice-president.

One of her teachers said, “Kayla has a fantastic attitude in class.  Even if an assignment isn't particularly enjoyable for her, she always gives a great effort.  She will work and rework something until it is her best.  She never gives up.” 

McKenzie Overschmidt January NH Middle School Student Of Month

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - McKenzie Overschmidt has been selected as the New Haven Middle School Student of the Month.  McKenzie is a very pleasant, polite and respectful student.

Her work is always complete and is very conscientious of her work.  She is helpful to others and friendly to all her peers. 

NHHS National Honor Society Donates $2,000 To Track Project

Members of New Haven High School's National Honor Society present a check to New Haven Track Project Committe Member, Dave Engelbrecht.

NEW HAVEN, Mo.- During half time at the varsity boys basketball game, Friday Feb. 6, the New Haven High School chapter of the National Honor Society presented a donation to the New Haven Track Project.

The group raised $2000 during the Jingle Jog 5K Run/Walk, which they hosted Dec. 6.

Members of the organization presented the check to Dave Engelbrecht, who represented the New Haven Track Committee.

Vedder Selected As Daughters Of American Revolution Good Citizen

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - Mackenzy Vedder, daughter of Kent and Tina Vedder, of New Haven has been honored as New Haven High School's D.A.R. "Good Citizen" for the 2014-2015 school year.

This award, sponsored by the Valley of the Meramec Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is given to a senior student, male or female, nominated by the faculty who best exemplifies outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability,  service, and patriotism in their school, home, and community.

Kyle Ruediger NHHS December Student Of The Month

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The December Student of the Month is Senior Kyle Ruediger.  Kyle is the son of Eric and Pam Ruediger.  He is active in basketball, baseball, FBLA, FCA, and NHS.

One teacher remarked, “Kyle recently earned a place in the 1000 point club in the basketball program.  This is a testament to his work ethic both in and out of the basketball season.
