NH High School National Honor Society To Host Jingle Jog - Benefit NH Track Project

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The New Haven High School Chapter of the National Honor Society is hosting their first-ever Jingle Jog 5K Run/Walk to benefit the New Haven Track Project.

The race will be held at New Haven Elementary School on Saturday December 6th with a 9 a.m. start time.  The fastest overall male and female and the top three in each age group will be recognized, but you don't have to be fast to win! 

Emma Eichelberger Receives HOBY Leadership Award

NEW HAVEN, Mo. – Tuesday afternoon New Haven High School Counselor Doug Peirick announced that Emma Eichelberger, daughter of Jim and Gia Eichelberger has been awarded the 2014 Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation (HOBY) Leadership Award for New Haven High School.

Last year approximately 9,000 high school sophomores--tomorrow's leaders--participated in HOBY's Leadership Seminars in the United States.

Howard Langenberg Family Donates $15,000 to NH Elementary Playground Project

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - On Tuesday October 21st Howard Langenberg’s family had announced a donation of $15,000 towards the New Haven Elementary School playground project.

Three days later on October 24th Mr. Langenberg passed away at the age of 85.  Mr. Langenberg proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  You may read his obituary by clicking here.

Julie Moeckli - New Haven High School's September Student Of The Month

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The Student of the Month for September is Senior Julie Moeckli.  Julie is the daughter of Clayton and Linda Moeckli. 

She is active in FBLA, FCCA, NHS, and is a manager for the volleyball and girls basketball teams.

One teacher remarked, ”Julie is very conscientious about getting assignments in on time and making sure they have been completed thoroughly with quality answers. She often assumes the role of group leader when she and her fellow classmates work on projects.  Julie's personality is an asset to the classroom because she is  polite and she always has a big smile.”

New Haven School Board Goes On Record Opposing Amendment 3

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - There has been little, if any support from teachers or school officials on Amendment 3, which will be on the November ballot.

Since being certified by the secretary of state’s office, over 140 school districts have adopted  a Resolution in Opposition to Amendment 3 according to “Protect Our Local Schools” which is a coalition of parents, teachers, principals, superintendents and school boards that was formed to defeat Constitutional Amendment 3

During Wednesday’s monthly meeting the New Haven School District Board Officials joined the long list of school districts by approving a Resolution in Opposition to Amendment 3.

Board President Brenda Menke said, “Amendment 3 takes away local control of educational decisions from parents, teachers, administrators, and school boards.

New Haven Superintendent Releases Statement On How The District Is Handling Extreme Heat

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - This morning New Haven Superintendent Kyle Kruse released a statement in response to questions his office has received about how the district plans to handle the high temperatures and why there are currently no plans to dismiss school due to the heat.

Kruse said, “As you know, even with our project to install air conditioning in the middle school and high school buildings, there is still one wing that doesn't have air conditioning.  That will change within the next 45-60 days, as we expect additional HVAC units to arrive next week and to be installed soon after.

New Haven High School Registration for the School Year 2014-2015

NEW HAVEN, Mo - New Haven High School will hold registration for the upcoming school year from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-3 p.m. on the following days.

The incoming senior class will register on Friday, August 1. Incoming juniors will register on Monday, August 4. The incoming sophomore class is scheduled to register Tuesday, August 5, and incoming freshmen will register on Wednesday, August 6.

New students to the New Haven School District should register on Thursday, August 7.

Hannah Kruse Places 5th At National FBLA Conference

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - More than 10,000 of America’s best and brightest youth traveled to the historic city of Nashville to make some history of their own as they showcased their talents as future business leaders and vied for the opportunity to win over $165,000 in cash awards.
