Tristen Hagar and Fey Chavez 2014 New Haven Prom King And Queen

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - Fey Chavez and Tristen Hagar were crowned King and Queen at last night’s New Haven High School’s 2014 Prom.

Fey is the daughter Fernado and Elizabeth Monserrat Chavez.  Throughout high school Fey says that her parents and sister made the biggest impact on her life.

Something most people don’t know about Fey is that she refuses to go into the ocean.

Fey’s escort was Harley DeWalt.  Harley is the son of Tad and Glenda DeWalt.  In twenty years Harley sees himself as a personal trainer at his own gym.  What most people don’t know about Harley is that he’s a great cook.

Tristen is the son of Tammy Hagar Voyles and the late Jasper “JR” Hagar.  In twenty years Tristen sees himself being a successful business man living in Florida and traveling the world.

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Members of the New Haven High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Chapter recently attended the 2014 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference held on April 13th, 14th, and 15th in Columbia, Mo. and once again will be sending students to compete at the National level.

New Haven High School's FBLA chapter is arguably one of the best chapters in the State of Missouri when you take into account that over half of the high school’s 180 students are active in FBLA.

New Haven Elementary Students Are Rock Stars

NEW HAVEN, Mo.  - For several years now New Haven Elementary’s faculty has taken a proactive approach in fighting childhood obesity by encouraging kids to be active, whether that involves running, walking, or simply playing outside with their friends by participating in programs such as the Flying Pigs Marathon and Girls on the Run.  These school-based extracurricular running programs are held after school once a week.

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - New Haven hopes avenge last year’s Class 2 State Sectionals loss to Saxony Lutheran.

We will be blogging live from New Haven High School.

It’s a best of three games.  Each game consists of four quarters.  First game starts at 5 p.m.  The winner will advance onto the Missouri State Finals.

Game 2 final 450-320 Saxony Lutheran advances to the Class 2 State Finals, defeating New Haven in two games, winning the first game 450-290.

Congrats to New Haven on a great season as they finish 27-19 on the year.

New Haven High School's Michael McKernan Attends 80th Annual Sophomore Pilgrimage

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Earlier this month on Tuesday, April 8 New Haven High School sophomore Michael McKernan attended the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of MO 80th Annual Sophomore Pilgrimage in Jefferson City, Mo.

McKernan said, “It was a great experience for me and never realized how small New Haven was compared to the rest of the world.  Most of the kids I met were from schools ten times the size of New Haven and to be chosen was a great honor.”

New Haven High School's Taurie Schroeder Wins MFA Scholarship

COLUMBIA, MO - Taurie Lynn Schroeder, a graduating senior at New Haven High School, has won a $2,000 MFA Foundation Scholarship.

The scholarship was awarded at the school's Graduation Ceremonies.
Taurie Schroeder is the child of Pamela and Kurt Schroeder. Taurie plans to attend: College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO.
