OBITUARY: Doris Zastrow (July 13, 1962 - February 19, 2013)

Mrs. Doris Jean Zastrow, 50, of Ballwin passed away Tuesday, February 19th, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Zastrow was born in St. Charles, Missouri on July 13, 1962, the daughter of Roy and Sedalia (Kester) Wilke.

She was the wife of Michael Zastrow, they were married June 23, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ellisville, Missouri.

Mrs. Zastrow is survived by her husband Michael, her parents Sedalia & Roy Wilke, House Springs, MO; a sister Darlene Franz and husband Richard, Marietta, Georgia; mother-in-law, Ora May Zastrow, New Haven; brother-in-law, Richard Zastrow and wife Vicki, New Haven; by her nieces and nephews, Kyle Franz, Lebanon, TN; Karaysa Franz, Marietta, GA; Jeremy Zastrow, Mesa, AZ; Joshua Zastrow, Washington, MO; Julie Zastrow, New Haven, MO; she is also survived by a God Child Emily Sepe of Eureka, MO.

OBITUARY: Leslie: Gerald D. Groce (June 12, 1923 - February 20, 2013)

Gerald Dean Groce, 89, of Leslie, Missouri passed away on February 20, 2013.

Gerald was born June 12, 1923, the youngest of six children to the late David Warren and the late Josephine Groce.

He was preceded in death by his five siblings, Vera Mae and husband Vernette Hunn, David Carrell and wife Mary Groce, Ethel Rachel and husband Paul Chan, Verna Vesta and husband Roger Getty, and Vivian Marie and husband Joseph Britton.

OBITUARY: Berger: Fayette Pauline Schutt (January 3, 1919 - February 16, 2013)

Fayette Pauline Schutt, 94, formerly of Berger, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at New Haven Care Center.

Mrs. Schutt was born in Winside, Nebraska on January 3, 1919, the daughter of the late Peter and Caroline (Damme) Reeg. She was baptized on February 6, 1919 by Rev. Rudolph Moehring and Winside.

Fayette's mother passed away on September 7, 1919, leaving her husband and six other children. It was Mrs. Reeg's wish that her sister should raise her infant daughter. Fayette was brought to Berger by her father on the train, to make her home with her uncle August and Aunt Mary Kahle, nee Damme, and her grandmother Charlotte Damme, nee Schacht.

Fayette attended Lyon School, near Berger and was confirmed at Bethany Evangelical and Reformed Church, Big Berger on March 25, 1934 by Rev. E.H. Dickbernd.

She was united in marriage to Arthur H. Schutt on November 6, 1980, at Union, Missouri by Rev. W.W. Kramme. Her husband preceded her in death on August 23, 1994.

Beloved husband of Lori Zupan. Loving father of Sydney, Matthew and Caroline Zupan. Son of Janez and Maria Zupan. Brother of Mark Zupan. Brother-in-law of Mark Loeb and Kathy Williamson. Uncle of Ben Loeb; Kendall and Barclay Williamson; Will and Walker Zupan. Dear nephew, cousin, godfather, and friend to many.

Dr. Zupan was a beloved pediatrician in Washington, Missouri.

Vernon W. Scheer, 83, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at New Haven Care Center.

Mr. Scheer was born in New Haven, Missouri on April 12, 1929, the son of the late Emil and Clara (Ohse) Scheer.

He was the husband of Carolyn (Niewald) Scheer. They were married April 23, 1955 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, New Haven. Carolyn survives in New Haven.

Vernon is also survived by a son David Scheer of Union, daughter Ruth Steinhoff & husband Ray of New Haven, son John Scheer & wife Sharon of New Haven, son Tim Scheer & wife Michele of New Haven, son Jim Scheer & wife Angie of New Haven, a brother Larry Scheer & wife Carolyn of New Haven, 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Jerri L. Hallemann, 66, of New Haven, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at New Haven Care Center

Mrs. Hallemann was born in Breese, Illinois on August 20, 1946, the daughter of the late Carl and Thelma (Davis) Obermeier.

She was the wife of Raymond F. Hallemann. They were married June 4, 1995 at St. Peters U.C.C, New Haven. Raymond survives in New Haven.

OBITUARY: Hermann: Austin Lee Van Booven (December 31, 1991 - February 12, 2013)

Austin Lee Van Booven, 21, of Rhineland, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at New Haven, Missouri.

Mr. Van Booven was born in Hermann, Missouri on December 31, 1991, the son of David Lee and Brenda Jean (Bader) Van Booven of Rhineland, Missouri.

Austin was a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation. He enjoyed life, enjoyed playing sports in school, he loved to help on the family farm, hunting and fishing and spending time with his friends.

He worked at Wortman Erectors in Montgomery City. He also worked for Dr. Robert Lund as a farm hand, at Heberle Packing Company, Trailside Bar & Grill in Rhineland and helped on the family farm. He also helped local schools as a referee for basketball games.

Amanda Lee Witthaus, 27, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at New Haven, Missouri.

Amanda was born in Hermann, Missouri on January 17, 1986, the daughter of Kevin and Janet (Grass) Witthaus.

She was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri and she worked for Pulaski Bank of Creve Coeur as a bank analyst.

Donna Zobrist
died peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, February 4 at Bishop Spencer Place in Kansas City, Missouri. She was 86.

Born Donna Mae Anderson in Moline, Illinois on February 22, 1926, she was the youngest daughter of Harry and Viola Anderson.  Her older sisters Violet Johnson, Harriett Behrmann, and Merlynn Anderson predeceased her.

Donna was a graduate of  Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where she majored in English and History. She was united in marriage to Ben Zobrist at Ascension Chapel on the Augustana campus on October 23, 1948. They enjoyed over 58 years of marriage.
