JV Volleyball El Perfecto - Schenck Dominates In Hermann

Shamrock sports brief: Tuesday night's top headline is the JV volleyball team's unwillingness to lose as their perfect season remains intact after defeating Sullivan in straight sets, 26-28, 25-18, improving to 18-0 and 3-0 in conference play.

Monday night they picked up their 17th win in a three set battle with Fatima, 25-20, 29-31, 25-16.

Black Gold Fall Short in Semifinal - Complete Weekend Game Summaries

Eric Steinbeck combined for 48 strickouts in the four games he pitched.

New Haven, Mo. - The Black Gold team came up short in this weekends Fastpitch Classic after after knocking off the Knights 5-0 in Sunday's quarterfinal, advancing them into the semifinals, where Kelso handed Black Gold their second loss on the weekend in a 3-1 pitchers duel.

Before suffering their tournament ending loss, Black Gold had great game performances from numerous players throughout the weekend.

Eric Steinbeck was a stud from the mound, practically untouchable, and left hitters dazed and confused.

Re/Max Today Little League Spotlight - Gabby Bunners

New Haven, Mo. - In last week's petite softball game Gerald's Gabby Bunners crushed a one-out bases-loaded triple in the top of the third to give her team a 6-4 lead, propelling Gerald to a 7-4 win over New Haven.

Bunners ended the night with two triples, three RBIs, scored twice, and pitched three innings, holding New Haven to just three runs. 

Eighty Kids Attend Summer Basketball Camp For Second Straight Year

New Haven, Mo. - Coach Ray Steinhoff held his first summer basketball camp in 1986, barley having enough kids to even play a regular game.  Steinhoff's summer camp has grown into a weeklong event with a morning and afternoon session.

For the second straight year Steinhoff had 80 kids attended last weeks summer basketball camp saying, "There were a few years I had 83 or maybe 84 turnout but this would be the second or third most kids we've had."

Each year Steinhoff looks at who all came the previous years to see if there are any kids who did not now return.  Amazingly, you could count on one hand the number of players who were not at this year's camp.

Fastpitch Returns to New Haven - 2013 Black-Gold Tournament This Weekend

Fastpitch softball returns to New Haven this weekend with the 2013 Black-Gold Classic Fastpatch Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.

In previous years the Black-Gold Classic was held in Hermann but after heavy rains turned Dick Ochsner Ball Park into a lake the annual tournament will be played at Lions and Bock fields this Saturday and Sunday.

Re/Max Today Little League Spotlight - Charlie Tyree

When Bank of Franklin County's Charlie Tyree steps up to bat, outfielders may want to take a few steps back because this young five-year-old has some slugging power, earning him in the Re/Max Today Little League Spotlight.

While Tyree will be remembered by opponents for his hitting, fans will always remember Tyree being the player who slides into home plate every time.

Ruediger Wins First State Medal With Final Round Of 78 In Class 2 State Golf Classic

Nixa, Mo. - Hermann’s Austin Ruediger returned to the Missouri Class 2 State Golf Classic on Monday at Fremont Hills Country Club in Nixa, Mo. for the third straight year, winning his first state medal, finishing tied for 14th.

In 2011, Ruediger advanced to the state tournament for the first time, ending the final round tied with his teammate Colin Hart in 43rd.
