HERMANN, Mo. - Two-Thousand and Thirteen was a big year for Stone Hill Winery and the Held family. On July 10 at 3:06 p.m. they bottled their two millionth case then became the first winery to have the same wine (2011 Estate Bottled Norton) win both the C.V. Riley and the Governor’s Cup awards in the same year.
Wednesday afternoon the Director of Agriculture Richard Fordyce presented the 2013 Governor’s Cup and C.V. Riley Awards to the winemakers at Stone Hill Winery.
“It’s a great honor to win the C.V. Riley and Governor’s Cup awards,” said Jon Held, Owner of Stone Hill Winery. “What makes it especially sweet is that we won the first ever C.V. Riley award, and now we are the first to win both for the same wine.”
