Three New Haven Individuals Sustain Minor Injuries In Two Car Accident

WASHINGTON, Mo. - Tuesday morning at 7:47 a.m. Washington Fire and EMS responded to the area of Highway 100 and Arch Road, east of Highway 185 and approximately one mile east of Bluff Road for a two car vehicle crash.

James H. Bias, Jr. (May 5, 1936 - August 17, 2014)

James H. Bias, Jr., 78, of Washington, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his home.

Mr. Bias was born in Fayette, Missouri on May 5, 1936, the son of the late James H. Bias, Sr. and Christine (Clickner) Clouse.

He was the widower of Norma Jean (Gray) Bias. They were married in Bladensburg, Maryland. Norma preceded him in death on April 12, 1997.

Fire Engulfs Home On Scenic Point Drive

WASHINGTON, Mo. – Washington Fire Department responded to a house fire on Scenic Point Drive in Washington, MO earlier today, Monday August 11. 

Washington Fire Chief Bill Helmich said, “We got two 911 calls for a house fully involved on Scenic Point Drive. On our arrival we had fire through the roof, 50 percent of flame and smoke environment, and it was advancing to the rest of the house to the North.”

One Airlifted In Fatal Head-On Crash

Washington Fire Crews had to extricate the driver of the vehicle pictured above and was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Creve Ceour, Mo.

WASHINGTON, Mo. - Late Wednesday afternoon at approximately 3:41 p.m. Washington Fire and EMS crews responded to Highway 100 and Bluff Road (just east of Highway 185) for a head-on crash involving two cars.

Highway 100 shutdown in both directions for nearly four hours while the MSHP crash reconstruction team conducted an investigation as to the cause of the accident.

Washington, Mo. - 5:31 p.m. - A motor vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. this afternoon has left  Highway 100 shutdown at Bluff Road just east of Highway 185 and is expected to be shutdown for several hours, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Voters Must Register By July 9 For August Primary - Clerk Urges Voters To Update Address Changes

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. - Residents of Franklin County that have not registered to vote and wish to cast their ballot in the August 5, 2014, Primary Election must be registered to vote no later than July 9, 2014.

Also, any registered voter of Franklin County who has changed their address are also urged by Debbie Door, County Clerk, to contact the clerk’s office or other agency conducting voter registration and complete a change of address card by the July 9th deadline in order to save time at the polls on election day.

The Harvest Table – A Free And Open Community Meal

WASHINGTON, Mo. - The Harvest Table is a free and open community meal served every Saturday from 5 til 6 p.m. in the dining room of St Peter’s United Church of Christ on the corner of 5th and Market Streets in downtown Washington MO.

Every week one of 26 different churches or service organizations prepares a hearty casserole, brings fresh salad ingredients, and bakes homemade desserts for the meal.

The groups also send volunteer workers to set up, serve and clean up after the meal.

Owen M. McInnis of Washington, Mo. passed away on Saturday April 19, 2014.

A celebration of Owen's life will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Oltmann Funeral Home Chapel in Washington, Mo.

Owen is survived by his parents Ken and Ruth McInnis of Washington. One brother Evan McInnis of Washington Grandparents Johanna and Duane Mesloh of Kansas City and Charles and Penny McInnis of Washington state.
