Mercy Clinic Adds OB/GYN in Hermann

Bruce Glover, DO, of Mercy Clinic Women’s Health joins Hermann office.

HERMANN, Mo. – Women in the Hermann region can now see a Mercy Clinic obstetrician and gynecologist close to home.

Bruce Glover, DO, is seeing patient at the Hermann office on the first and third Monday of each month. He is the only board-certified OB/GYN seeing patients in the area. The specialty office is located at Hermann Area District Hospital, 509 West 18th St. in Hermann. Dr. Glover, who is part of Mercy Clinic Women’s Health in Washington, will provide general women’s health services including well woman exams, routine gynecological and obstetrical care and some office procedures.

Lorraine Voss, nee Meyer, of Washington passed away Saturday, April 12th.

She is survived by three daughters, Donna Mahnesmith of Washington Julie Waelterman and husband, Todd of St. Louis And Mary Hagedorn and husband, Donald of Villa Ridge Five sons, Perry Voss of St. Louis Garry Voss of Washington Michael Voss of Washington Roger Voss and wife, Kim of Washington And Tim Voss and wife, Sarah of Washington 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren Two sisters, Arlene Holtmeyer and husband, Gilbert of Washington and Elsie Kopmann and husband, Ralph of New Haven two brothers, Richard Meyer of Washington and Dale Meyer and wife, Linda of Washington.

HADH And Mercy Partnership Celebrates One Year Anniversary

Partnership is growing services and strengthening the hospital.

HERMANN/WASHINGTON, Mo. – One year after Mercy and Hermann Area District Hospital entered into an affiliation agreement, the region is benefiting with more doctors, more services and working towards a stronger hospital with more resources.    

“This has been a good partnership for Hermann Area District Hospital and the region,” said Dan McKinney, administrator for Hermann Area District Hospital. “Mercy has been dedicated to providing more doctors to area residents and strengthening the services we provide. Mercy continues to help us make progress to enhance services offered at the Hermann Area District Hospital.”

Washington, Mo. - This morning New Haven High School Graduate Lieutenant Zach Zuroweste blasted over New Haven, flying an F/A-18 A+ Hornet during a routine training mission.  Zuroweste took off from Scott Air Force Base, taking him 15 minutes before first reaching Washington.

Union 18-Year-Old Arrested While Trying To Recycle Stolen Items

Washington, Mo. - Thursday morning Franklin County Deputies arrested an 18-year-old male after he attempted to recycle items he had stolen earlier that morning.

Yesterday morning at 10:56 a.m. Franklin County Deputies began investigating a theft of tools and steel from Carter Waters Incorporated located at 6549 Meyer Drive, in Washington, Mo.

BREAKING NEWS: Three Fire Departments Respond To Yet Another Brush Fire Off Enochs Knob Road

New Haven, Mo. - Shortly after 12 p.m. this afternoon Washington Fire Department responded for a brush fire in the area of Enochs Know Road and the rock quarry, just west of Highway 185.

Two additional fire departments, Beaufort/Leslie and New Haven also responded to assist.  Watch live report below for more details.

Note:  According to the National Weather Service winds were steady at 20 mph and gusting up to 30 mph at the time of the initial call.

Four Seriously Injured In Four Car Crash On Highway 100

Washington, Mo. - According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) five people were transported to Mercy Hospital and one airlifted by ARCH to Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, Mo in yesterday evening’s crash involving four vehicles.

The four car accident occurred at 7:26 p.m. Saturday evening on Highway 100, approximately one half mile east of Highway 185 and just east of Newport Road.

Along with Washington Fire Rescue, a total of five ambulances responded (three with Washington EMS and two from New Haven) where a total of eight people were involved in the crash.

New Critical Care Unit Opens at Mercy

Washington, Mo. – Patients and their loved ones are benefiting from the newly expanded and renovated critical care unit at Mercy Hospital Washington.

“The new space allows us to keep more people close to home for their care,” said Dr. William Galli, medical director. “We have space for advanced medical equipment and expanding services. We can do more bedside procedures. And we’re providing more critical care specialists and specialties.”

Construction that began in February to alter the third floor is now complete. The new third floor features 13 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patient rooms, six Transitional Care Unit (TCU) patient rooms and additional areas for staff and supplies. The combined space is known as the critical care unit. The patient rooms are spacious, modern and private.

Munsinger Wins Grand Champion At 1st Annual Gateway BBQ Showdown

Washington, Mo. - “Surprised and shocked” are the words Joe Munsinger (pictured above) of New Haven, Mo. used to describe how it felt to win Grand Champion at the 1st Annual Insane Can Posse Braggin’ Rights Showdown hosted by Gateway BBQ Store.

Twenty-two teams competed in Saturday’s Braggin Right’s Showdown where each team had to cook on their Gateway Drum Smoker.  In fact 20 of the teams compete professionally every weekend in Kansas City BBQ Society’s sanctioned events, making Munsinger’s win that more meaningful.

Seven Time Defending State Champion Starry Knights Dance Team Performs At Gateway BBQ Showdown

Washington, Mo. - The Starry Knights Dance Team of St. Francis Borgia High School qualified this past summer to compete in Nationals after winning their seventh straight State Championship.

Saturday they worked at Gateway BBQ Store’s 1st Annual Insane Can Posse Braggin’ Rights Showdown to help raise money to fund their trip to nationals. We spoke with two seniors, Andrea and Abby right before their performance which you can watch below.
